WORK WITH US
Story of Things offers two ways to work with us: individual therapy for adults navigating life's challenges, and workplace mental health partnerships for organizations that want to support their teams.

Individual Therapy
For adults seeking grounded, affirming care.

We work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, major life transitions, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. We specialize in LGBTQ+ mental health and support people building families, managing grief, or just trying to make sense of what comes next.

Therapy here isn't about quick fixes. It's about understanding what's actually happening, building skills that stick, and making changes that align with who you are and what matters to you.

Sessions are available via telehealth across Pennsylvania, with limited in-person availability.
What we help with:
-
Anxiety, stress, and burnout
-
LGBTQ+ identity and relationships
-
Life transitions (career, family, identity)
-
Fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum
-
Grief and loss
-
Emotional regulation and communication

Work Place Mental Health
We partner with small and mid-sized businesses to provide accessible mental health care for employees. No rigid corporate models. No generic templates. Just flexible, clinically sound support designed around your team's actual needs.

Why this matters for your business:
Mental health challenges don't stay home when your employees clock in. Anxiety, burnout, family stress, and major life transitions show up as decreased productivity, increased absenteeism, and higher turnover. The cost of replacing an employee typically runs $3,000-$5,000—often more than a year of mental health support for your entire team.

Providing accessible mental health care isn't just the right thing to do. It's a retention strategy that pays for itself.

What you get:
Employees get confidential access to licensed therapists. Leaders get consultation and support navigating workplace mental health challenges. Your organization gets a healthier, more stable team.
Our workplace services include:
-
Confidential therapy for employees
-
Employee Assistance Program partnerships
-
Mental health consultation for managers and leadership
-
Custom workshops and wellness programming
-
Support during organizational transitions or growth
All services are led by licensed clinicians who understand both individual mental health and workplace dynamics.

What is your cancellation policy?
How often do we meet for therapy?
We recommend starting with weekly sessions to build momentum and support your growth. As you reach your goals, we can gradually space sessions to every other week, then monthly, until we feel the work is complete. Our aim is not to create dependence, but to help you connect with your own inner strengths and external support systems.
We encourage meeting weekly for at least the first three months to establish a strong foundation.
We ask that you let us know at least 24-hours in advance of the need to cancel via email at: contact@storyofthingstherapy.com so that we may offer the spot to someone else and plan accordingly.
If you cancel with less than 24-hours notice you will be charged the full session fee. Please note that this fee is typically not covered by insurance if seeking reimbursement.
Are the sessions confidential?
What if it doesn't feel like a good fit?
Absolutely, maintaining confidentiality is our utmost priority. All conversations and discussions during the session(s) are kept strictly private and are never disclosed or shared with any third party without your written consent.
It’s totally okay.
Sometimes, just like in any relationship, things don’t quite click.
One of the biggest predictors of meaningful therapy is feeling a sense of connection, trust, and alignment. If it doesn’t feel like the right fit, with me or the style of therapy, I welcome an open conversation about it. This is your care, and your comfort matters most. If needed, I’m always happy to support you in finding someone who feels like a better match.
